This coming January 5th and 6th are the nights of the new moon, which is a good time for setting intentions. You can look over your New Year’s resolutions for the coming year, or set an intention about anything else you are inspired to bring to your life.

Do your new moon ritual outside or at your altar.
Light the candles. Quiet yourself and center down, through breathing exercises, meditation, or visualization. Once you feel that your heart and head are in a spacious place, focus on the intention you would like to make. You can do this by writing your intention down, visualizing it, and then speaking it.
Hold one of your sacred objects that is symbolic of your intention, and let the energy flow: from you into the object, from the universe into you. Know that you will be guided by your wisdom and supported by the energy that supports all good things. Feel your wisdom, knowledge, intuition, and patience. Feel the immensity of your power. Imagine how you can bring these powerful forces to bear, in support of your intention.
Close your ritual with three slow deep breaths. Release control over outcomes, feeling open to a more expansive version of your future than you can even imagine.
