Rain can add a little extra excitement and atmosphere to your walk. Jumping over or sloshing through puddles is fun when you are properly kitted out for the weather. But when your new “raincoat” isn’t waterproof, an hour and a half hike in the rain can leave you cold, soaked, and bedraggled. I was brought back to health with a hot shower, a warm chicken pot pie, a large mug of chai tea, and some chocolate (I figured that if is an antidote for Dementors…)
My advice for enjoying wandering through all sorts of weather is to invest in the right gear. And always keep some chocolate on hand to raise your spirits if the weather gets the best of you.
